The second CoP meeting for the ITALIAN region took place on April 8th 2021 with specific focus on the WP5 analysis of the current status of standardization in monitoring, data-based safety assessment and maintenance of the transport infrastructure.
Many stakeholders, road operators and engineering firms active in the monitoring field on the Italian area participated, making the workshop highly fruitful in collecting the feedback from the practice.
Special attention was given to the relevance of monitoring in assessing structural safety and in supporting decision making on maintenance, the reasons for monitoring bridges in current practice and the benefits expected from the use of a standard on monitoring.
